Where is the Chevy Sonic engine made?
I’m a huge fan of buying American products, so for any vehicle I buy, I want to know where it’s made. My buddy wants to sell his Chevy Sonic on the cheap, so I’m interested, but again, only if it’s American. Where does Chevy make the Sonic engine?

If you want to buy American, you’re in luck. The Chevy Sonic engine is made at the Orion Assembly Plant in Orion Township, Michigan. Although the model has since been discontinued, every Chevy Sonic produced for the American market from 2012 to 2020 was built at this location.
Throughout its run, the Chevy Sonic was also produced for foreign markets in these countries:
- South Korea
- China
- Mexico
- Colombia
- Russia
- Thailand
