My family is going on a road trip from New York to Florida in a few days, so my dad changed the oil in our car and made sure everything was running well. We know the car’s in good shape, but the service light is still on. What’s the best way to reset the oil light on our 2016 Honda Pilot LX?

After an oil change, the oil life needs to be manually reset on your 2016
Honda Pilot EX
. Fortunately, it’s a very straightforward process that should only take a few minutes.Follow these steps to reset the oil light on a 2016 Honda Pilot:
- Turn the ignition to on, but do not start the vehicle.
- Navigate to the maintenance info menu with the up and down arrows on your steering wheel.
- Enter into the maintenance info menu and scroll down until you highlight oil life.
- Press and hold the reset button on the steering wheel until maintenance reset appears on the screen.
- Highlight reset and select it with the reset button on your steering wheel.
Once complete, the oil life will be reset to 100%, and the maintenance light should disappear.
