If I'm pulled over by police while driving a car insured by someone else, will I get penalized for not having insurance?

I drive my girlfriend's car for errands. She has insurance on her car, but I don't have car insurance since I don't have my own vehicle.

No, you will not be penalized as long as you were given permission by the owner of the policy to drive the vehicle and you are able to prove that this permission was given.
