How far is Utah from Colorado if you’re driving?

I’ve never been to Utah but I keep hearing about how beautiful it is. I’m from Colorado and was considering taking a trip out there with my friend. How far is the drive?

Whether you want to check out the many sights of the Mormon Capital or are simply interested in some beautiful scenery across the states, a drive from Colorado to Utah is most definitely an epic adventure.
The 428-mile drive from Colorado to Utah will take roughly eight hours to drive along the I-70 route that’s bursting with snow-capped mountains, lush green forests, and deserts. If you can’t do the full eight-hour drive, there are loads of options for stops en route for you to break it up:
  • Hanging Lake
  • Arches and Canyonlands National Parks
  • Vail, Colorado
  • Provo Canyon
  • Wineries in Palisade
Although the drive has some stunning scenery, driving through mountains and forests can be nerve-wracking, which means having the right car insurance is key.
