If you want to buy an American truck, GMC is a great brand that employs thousands of Americans. Every GMC 2500HD truck—or more specifically, the GMC Sierra 2500HD—rolls off the assembly line at the Fort Wayne Assembly Plant in Roanoke, Indiana.
Built in 1986, the Fort Wayne Assembly Plant builds not only the GMC Sierra 2500HD but also several variants of the Chevy Silverado. Aside from the assembly plant, the facility also has a sequence center, a paint shop, and two body shops. It covers 4.6 million square feet and employs nearly 4,400 workers to boot.
