Is a friend of mine who drives because I'm tired legally covered by my car insurance?

I've read that a driver can be covered by my car insurance policy if I'm too tired to drive. Is that correct?

“Most car insurance policies have a “”permissive use”” clause, which covers other drivers for occasional use of your vehicle. This means that though the person isn’t technically on your policy, they can drive your car on occasion, provided that you give them permission.

Keep in mind that this clause isn’t on all

policies, but it’s definitely on most of them. It’s worth reaching out to your car insurance provider just to make certain.”
