How many cylinders are in a Mazda CX 9?

I was thinking about getting a Mazda CX 9, but I want to make sure it has enough power to tow my boat to the lake. How many cylinders does the engine of a Mazda CX 9 have?

The number of cylinders in a
Mazda CX 9
depends on the generation and model year of the vehicle.
Made between 2007 and 2015, the first generation of the Mazda CX 9 has an engine with six cylinders (V6). The 2007 CX 9 has a 3.5-liter V6 that’s good for 263 horsepower and 249 pound-feet of torque. The 2008 to 2015 models have a 3.7-liter V6 with 273 horsepower and up to 270 pound-feet of torque. Both engines provide a
Mazda CX 9 towing capacity
of up to 3,500 pounds when properly equipped.
From 2016 on, Mazda switched to a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that’s capable of 250 horsepower and up to 320 pound-feet of torque. This doesn’t give the CX 9 any more towing power—it’s still good for 3,500 pounds, which should be plenty to tow most boats. Just make sure to protect your CX 9 with a solid
car insurance
policy before you tow anything!
