How long do you need an SR-22 if you live in California?

How long do I need an SR-22 for? My license was suspended but was recently reinstated after not driving for a year. Traffic court told me I need an SR-22 to drive in California.

In California, you’ll need to carry an
SR-22
for a minimum of three years.
That said, the length of time can be extended if you commit any driving offenses over those three years. However, you don’t need to file each year like in other states, which saves you a few bucks.
Be a careful, defensive driver while you have your SR-22 and you won’t have to worry about expensive
car insurance
after the three-year period.
