Thankfully, a burn in fabric car seats like yours isn’t too hard to fix on your own. All you’ll need is a razor blade, a pencil, some mayonnaise (yes, you read that right), and super glue.
You’ll want to start by rubbing a small dollop of mayonnaise over the burned fabric, letting it sit for a few minutes before using a clean, damp cloth to wipe away any residue. This helps loosen and detach the melted fabric.
The next step is to take the razor and scrape underneath the seat where the fabric isn’t visible and collect any fabric fuzz that you cut away.
Squeeze some super glue into the cigarette burns and stuff the fabric fuzz you collected into the holes, using the pencil to push the fabric down until level with the rest of the seat. After a little practice, the burns shouldn’t be as noticeable as they were before.
If you ever need to replace a larger section of fabric, simply use a scalpel or an exacto knife to cut a piece of upholstery from underneath the seat and glue it over the burn.
