Similarities: Honda Fit vs. Mazda 3
One of the biggest and perhaps one of the most important similarities between these two cars is their price range.
The 2020 Honda Fit typically ranges between $20,800 and $25,050, while the Mazda 3 ranges between $20,025 and $26,775. The similar price points are great for car buyers, because that means you can focus mainly on the features when deciding between the two.
It’s also good to know that both cars can seat a maximum of five people (two in front, three in the back), have front wheel drive, and come in four different trim lines.
In terms of other similarities, the Honda Fit and Mazda 3 have similar engine and performance capabilities, although they have different options available. While the Honda Fit can go 0 to 30 mph in four seconds, the Mazda 3 can do it in three seconds. Both earned a four out of five rating in both routine and emergency handling.
And, while the Honda Fit has an avoidance maneuver maximum speed of 55 mph, the Mazda 3 was just one mile under in that category with a maximum speed of 54 mph.

These two cars went back and forth in the comfort category ratings.
While the 2020 Mazda 3 earned better ratings in the ride, noise, climate control, and driving position categories, the 2020 Honda Fit took the cake for rear seat comfort, front access, rear access, and usability. The engines available for both cars are also vastly different, with the Honda Fit supporting a 1.5-liter 4 (with 128 horsepower) and the Mazda 3 a 2.5-liter 4 (with 186 horsepower).
Safety is another interesting category when comparing these two vehicles, because of their stark differences in the category.
While all versions of the 2020 Mazda 3 come standard with safety features like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking (city and highway), pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, and lane keeping assist, these are all optional on the 2020 Honda Fit.
Although both cars come with other standard safety features, the extra add-ons that come standard with the Mazda 3 make it seem like a safer car.
