How much money does Florida make in tolls?
I just moved to Florida, and my mind was blown when I realized how many toll roads the state has. I came from a state with no toll roads, so this was a shock. I also feel like I’m spending a ton of money on them each month. So that idea piqued my curiosity. How much money does Florida bring in from tolls?

Prior to the pandemic, Florida made around $718 million on tolls in 2019 alone. However, these numbers dipped quite a bit during the pandemic years of 2020 and 2021 to an average of about $529 million. To date, Florida has 734 miles of toll roads, which is the most of any state in the country.
The money from these tolls is used to maintain the tollway system, as well as expand it when necessary. It’s more convenient and in better shape than free roads or the highway system, giving you quick ways to get to your destination.
