How do I remove rust from car rotors?
How do you clean rust off brake rotors? I installed new rims and now the rust is visible.

“Removing rust from your car’s rotors only requires some brake cleaner and a wire brush.
Try this:
- Spray the rotors with brake cleaner.
- Let it sit for a few minutes.
- Wipe the cleaner off.
- Scrub away any remaining rust with the brush.
- Repeat the process if necessary.
Remember that brake cleaner is toxic. Make sure to set a drip tray below the rotors and use personal protective equipment. If you don’t feel comfortable doing this, ask a repairman to do the job.
