Congrats on the new car. It’s a good thing to be a proactive car owner—ignoring issues usually leads to bigger problems. Filling your tires is easy and only requires a quick trip to a gas station.
Here’s how to check the tire pressure for your car’s tires:
Step one: Check your tire pressure with a pressure gauge. If you don’t own one, the air hose will likely have one built-in. You can find your car’s desired PSI in your owners manual.
Step two: You’ll need to take your car to a gas station. Most gas stations will have air filling stations. You may need to buy gas or pay a small fee to get the air filling station to turn on.
Step three: Unscrew the valve stem cap from each tire. Be sure to put them somewhere safe—these small parts are easy to use. Then, inflate the problem tires with the gas station’s air pump. You’ll need to fit the tip of the hose over the valve and squeeze the pump. Recheck your PSI every 15 to 30 seconds to make sure you’re not overinflating.
