When you’re ready to cancel your renters insurance policy with
State Farm
, you can choose one of three options: - Call 800-782-8332 to speak with an agent
- Mail a letter to corporate headquarters at least two weeks before the date you want to end the policy
- Speak with an agent in person
That said, it’s good you haven’t canceled your current renters insurance policy yet. If you cancel before getting signed up for a new policy, you will have a lapse in coverage and it can raise your premiums. You also could violate your lease by canceling prematurely.
