Does the Ford Explorer have Android Auto?
The lease on my current Ford vehicle is almost up, and I’m planning on getting a Ford Explorer for my next lease term. But before I commit, I need to know more about what kind of tech I’d be getting if I opt for the base model. Can you tell me if the Ford Explorer has Android Auto?

You’re in luck! The Ford Explorer has Android Auto as a standard feature for all trim levels.
Android Auto is supported by Ford’s Sync 3 infotainment system. An 8-inch touchscreen is standard fare on all trims as well, with an option to upgrade to a 10.1-inch vertical infotainment touchscreen.
But, experts agree that upgrading is not money well spent. Not only is the vertical version irritatingly narrow, but it also doesn’t work as well with Android Auto (or Apple CarPlay).
Keep in mind that if Android Auto compatibility is a must-have feature, you’ll need to opt for an Explorer that is no older than a 2017 model. 2017 was the first year Android Auto was offered in this popular SUV.
