Is insurance cheaper if you buy home and auto coverage from the same company?

I've heard often enough that you save money by getting home and auto insurance from the same place, but is this true?

“Buying home and auto insurance from the same company is called ‘bundling,” and you can definitely save money by purchasing your insurance this way. Bundling is also convenient because you have both policies with one carrier, and you can call one company or download one app to take care of all your needs.
According to the national average, you can typically save 15% to 20% by buying your home and auto insurance with the same company. Sometimes a company that only sells auto insurance will be affiliated with a homeowners insurance company, and they will still be able to offer you a bundle rate even though they are separate entities. There are many options out there for you; do your homework so that you can save lots of money!”
