How do you find your car insurance policy number?
It’s been a while since I’ve had to look at my insurance, but I’m about to start driving frequently again. How do I find my policy number so I can check my coverage? I also forgot where I last placed my insurance card.

Whether you have a physical insurance card or digital proof of insurance, you’ll likely find the policy number near the top of the card. It’s a combination of letters and numbers 9-13 characters long.
You likely placed your insurance card somewhere easy to access. Common spots include:

- Your car visor
- Your wallet
