Will a bad starter kill your car while driving?

The past couple of mornings, my car has had some issues starting. It makes a clicking noise and is slow to start. I can’t get to the mechanic until Friday but I’m concerned about the bad starter killing my car while I’m driving. Is that a possibility?

Hopefully an earlier spot at the mechanic will open up for you! While we can’t guarantee your car will continue to start, the chances of the engine being killed while driving are slim.
Most issues with your starter are caused by shorts in the wiring. Without enough power, your engine won’t start.
If you’re lucky enough to get your vehicle started, it is very unlikely that your engine will die or stall while driving. Never say never though—in some instances, the shorted starter can cause a continuous battery discharge. Your vehicle can not operate properly without proper voltage.
It’s best to not gamble on your starter once you notice performance issues. Don’t gamble on your
