Why would Progressive charge me after my policy was canceled?

I canceled my policy on the day my payment was due, but I just got a bill for $75. My monthly premium was $120, so it wasn't the full price, but why did they charge me?

“Receiving an unexpected bill can be distressing, especially when you cancelled the day your bill was due. The best thing you can do is speak with
Progressive
.
It could be that your policy dates are different than your billing dates. The $75 would be for the short period of
car insurance
coverage you had. Since you cancelled midterm, it could also be a cancellation fee.
