You’re right that Rivian, an electric vehicle company based in California, has plans to open a new plant in Georgia. But so far, construction hasn’t started yet.
The Rivian plant in Georgia is slated to be about 45 miles east of Atlanta off Interstate 20. The company plans to begin production at the facility in 2024.
If you’ve never heard of Rivian, it’s an EV company that makes two models:
The R1T is an electric pickup truck with a starting MSRP of $67,500
The R1S is an electric SUV with a starting MSRP of $72,500
Once it’s open, Rivian projects they’ll build around 400,000 new vehicles a year at the Georgia location. If you think you might buy one of them (or another electric vehicle), you’ll want to protect it with great car insurance
