Where is the Chevrolet Sonic made?

The Chevrolet Sonic is made in a number of GM manufacturing plants, but every Sonic made for the US market is built at the Orion Assembly Plant in Orion, Michigan.

You can determine where exactly your car was made by checking its vehicle identification number, or VIN. The first character of the VIN indicates what country the car was made in. This character can be a letter or a number, but on cars made in the US, the VIN will begin with a 1, 4, or 5.
It can be important to know where a car is built. Cars built for the American market must meet certain environmental emissions standards. Cars built outside of the US, including some Chevy Sonics, may not meet these standards, and if you purchase one, you may not be allowed to bring it into the country.
