Where is the 2010 Mercedes GLK 350’s battery location?
I bought my GLK 350 brand new in 2010, and I’ve loved it ever since. I had to replace the battery in 2017, but the mechanic charged me an arm and a leg. I want to replace it myself this time. I’m trying to find the 2010 Mercedes GLK 350’s battery location. It isn’t in the trunk like my other Mercedes, and I don’t see it under the hood. Where is the battery on a 2010 Mercedes GLK 350?

We’re happy to hear your Mercedes is still treating you well all these years later. While a lot of German cars have their car batteries in the trunk, your 2010 Mercedes GLK 350’s battery is located in the engine bay up front. It’s not in plain sight though, hence your not finding it easily. It’s located inside a special compartment in the upper-left corner, near the passenger side of the windshield.
To access and remove the battery:
- Remove three spring clips surrounding the box that covers the battery
- Disconnect the negative and positive cables from the battery using a 10mm socket wrench, and remember to always remove the negative cable first
- Remove the hydrogen breather tube from the left side of the battery. This has a red tip and should tug out without the use of tools
- Remove the two 13mm bolts holding the battery in place. These are found along the right side of the battery, near the bottom of it. You may need a socket extender to access them
- Remove the plate under those two 13mm bolts you just removed
- Remove the battery, then reverse these steps to install the new one
