For the 2022 model year, Mercedes had several noteworthy names missing, including the GLE-Class and GLS-Class. The models that were left out of production, which included the G-Wagen, were all powered by V8 engines.
The reason for the absence has been a source of confusion, as Mercedes-Benz has not provided regular updates about the topic.
Generally speaking, though, the overarching supply chain issues have been seen as the biggest source of delays for the G-Wagen. Emissions regulations could have also contributed to the G-Wagen and other Mercedes models being out of production.
Whatever the reason, the Mercedes G-Wagen is coming back! The manufacturer is now accepting orders once again for the G-Wagen as well as some of the other affected models like the GLS-Class.
