What’s the deal with Porsche clean fuel?

I’ve been hearing more talk lately about eFuels from Porsche. Is that a thing? What’s the deal with Porsche clean fuel?

Yes, it’s a thing. A
Porsche
“clean fuel” project has been in the works for several years now.
Porsche has invested tens of millions of dollars in Highly Innovative Fuels (HIF), a synthetic fuel or eFuel producer based in Chile. It’s created by combining hydrogen and carbon dioxide into a liquid product and is said to be designed to work with any vehicle that uses a gasoline-powered engine.
Porsche also claims that the eFuel production process itself is nearly carbon neutral.
With more electric vehicles on the road, eFuels are expected to play an essential role in transitioning away from fossil fuel usage.
