What is the Nissan Lifetime warranty?
My family is planning to get a Nissan Rogue soon, and I wanted to learn more about the warranties offered. I’ve heard that there was a Nissan Lifetime warranty—what is it exactly?

That’s a great question!
The Nissan Lifetime warranty is only offered by select dealerships and is not transferable if the car gets sold to a new owner.
The coverage often varies depending on the dealership but applies to all new vehicles. It also applies to select pre-owned vehicles that are less than 10 model years old, have less than 100,000 miles, and have passed the Lifetime Limited Powertrain Warranty certification checklist.
The lifetime warranty will be in effect for as long as you own the vehicle. It will cover the same components as the manufacturer’s Powertrain warranty as long as you maintain the recommended maintenance schedule in the owner’s manual.
Some of the components covered include:
- Engine: All internal components
- Transmission: All components aside from the oil cooler and transfer control unit
- Front-wheel drive: All components excluding constant velocity boots
- Rear and four-wheel drive: All components excluding constant velocity boots
However, there will usually be a $100 deductible per repair.
