Nissan certified pre-owned (CPO) warranty coverage
The Nissan certified pre-owned (CPO) warranty is a protection plan for certified pre-owned Nissan vehicles, and now drivers have the option between two certification coverages: Nissan Certified and Certified Select.
Nissan Certified is available on eligible Nissan models that are less than six years old from the original in-service date with fewer than 80,000 miles. After a thorough 167-point inspection process, your Nissan Certified warranty comes with a 7-year/100,000-mile limited warranty and one year of pre-paid maintenance services.
Meanwhile, Certified Select is available on select models up to 10 years old and less than 100,000 miles. All vehicles are subject to an 84-point inspection process and receive a 6-month/6,000-mile limited warranty and one complimentary service visit.
Under both Nissan CPO warranty coverage programs, Nissan-trained technicians repair and replace defective parts or manufacturer errors. But unlike its original limited powertrain warranty, you’ll have to pay a $100 deductible for any repair services with a CPO warranty.
But don’t confuse a CPO warranty with an extended warranty as the coverage you’ll get under the CPO warranty is more broad in scope. Let’s take a closer look at what your CPO warranty covers, and what services you’ll need to take care of on your own.
What’s covered
The Nissan CPO warranty covers any repairs needed for over 600 components due to a mechanical breakdown—but it doesn’t cover everything. Here’s what is covered:

What isn’t covered
The following components and services are not covered under either Nissan CPO coverage options:
- All High Voltage Electric Battery (EB) modules and sensors

- Airbags and any related components

Is a Nissan CPO warranty transferable?
The Nissan Certified Limited Warranty is fully transferable to one subsequent private owner, while the Certified Select Limited Warranty is non-transferable.
