What is the fastest way to have my car repaired by the insurance company?
Is it faster to get the repairs done on my car if I use the insurance company's shop or go with my usual mechanic? I filed a comprehensive claim with GEICO and I need my car fixed as fast as possible.

GEICO
has an excellent claims service and for comprehensive repairs, it will be much faster to use GEICO Auto Repair Xpress than going with your mechanic if they are not part of GEICO’s program.Body shops that participate in GEICO’s program are set up to receive EFT payments directly from GEICO and will have the required paperwork available for you to sign when you drop off your car.
Your regular mechanic will not have this set up, which will add days to the repair time.
Additionally, in most cases, the GEICO mechanics will provide a
rental car
while you are waiting for your car to be repaired.Your repair time may also depend on the type of repair.
Comprehensive coverage
repairs usually have the shortest wait time, so you could be back on the road in just a couple of days! If you need a tow to get your car to the body shop, check out
