What is the curfew for teen drivers in South Dakota?

Even though I meant to leave my friend’s house earlier, I just realized it’s after dark! Can I still drive home in South Dakota if I’m 16? I know there’s some kind of curfew. I just can’t remember the exact time.

You’re right—the curfew for teen drivers in South Dakota is 10 p.m. So you may still be able to drive home if it’s not too late! With a restricted license, you can drive alone from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
As a teenage driver in South Dakota, here are some other rules you may want to know:
  • You are allowed to drive with a legal guardian from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • You cannot have any passengers outside your family or household for the first six months of holding your license
  • After six months, you are allowed to have one passenger who is not part of your family or household in the car with you
Once you get your full license, you’re going to need car insurance to legally get behind the wheel. Check out the
