What is an O2 sensor?
I just got a check engine light on my car. I ran a diagnostic scan and the issue seems to be with my O2 sensor. I am not even sure what that is. What is my car's O2 sensor?

Check engine lights can be a huge stress! Your O2 sensor measures the portion of oxygen in your engine, which is an important part of the combustion process.
Your engine needs a specific proportion of gas and oxygen to run properly. If the ratio is off, meaning there is either too much or too little oxygen, your car will lose fuel efficiency or not run.
