Latch motor failure. If you hear a noise when you press the automatic door button, but the door doesn’t move, you’re likely experiencing a latch motor failure. Frayed or damaged cable. If the cable in the door frays, the door will work inconsistently. If it breaks entirely, the door will stop working altogether.
