The 2021 Honda Pilot’s interior is spacious and comfortable, but if you want infotainment options and upscale materials, you’ll have to look beyond the base-level LX trim.
The Honda Pilot’s third row of seating allows up to eight people, but if you go for a higher trim, the second-row bench seat is swapped out for the captain's seats with reduced passenger capacity.
That compromise sets the tone for the Pilot. The best-priced options come at the cost of desirable standard interior features. But if you can budget for a mid- or high-level trim package, then you’ll enjoy a well-appointed ride with generous infotainment options.
When you’re considering the budget for your trim level, you’ll want to keep in mind the associated costs of car ownership, like annual registration and car insurance
. Once you have your price range settled, you can get to selecting the 2021 Honda Pilot trim that’s right for you. 2021 Honda Pilot interior
The Honda Pilot presents an option for drivers who want plenty of seating without settling for a minivan. It offers minivan-sized passenger cargo volume, with a smaller frame that’s still roomy in the cabin.
Seating
Depending on the trim level you pick, you might have seven or eight seats in your 2021 Pilot. If you go with the Pilot Touring
trim, with a starting MSRP of $44,040, or the Elite
, starting at $49,945, you’ll get second-row captain seats with a stationary center console. You’ll also find this seven-seat configuration in the highest-priced Black Edition, which starts at $51,445. If you go with one of the lower three trims, you’ll have second-row bench seats. On the Pilot EX
and Special Edition Pilot, however, they’re easily adjustable with one-touch controls. Also available on higher trims are leather trim and heated second-row seats. 4.717k Ratings 5M+Drivers Joined

Tech
If infotainment and technology are important to you, then you’ll want to look above the base trim. Here’s what comes standard:
A non-touchscreen five-inch display
It’s admittedly pretty sparse, but higher trims allow you to opt into the 8-inch touchscreen display, Honda’s telematics system, wireless charging, navigation, Wi-Fi hotspot, 10-speaker sound system, and a rear entertainment system. There’s also an available in-cabin PA system and voice commands.

Storage
If you’re needing cargo space, the 2021 Pilot has it. If you’re using all three rows of seating, you can still count on 16.5 cubic feet of space. Fold the third-row seats down for more room. Behind the second-row seats, you can access up to 55.9 cubic feet of storage space with the seats folded down. And behind the first row, the Pilot offers 109 cubic feet of cargo volume.
Style
The 2021 Honda Pilot is a mid-size crossover that deeply resembles a minivan. That means it isn’t terribly stylish. But, some of the more expensive models offer a few redeeming qualities, including a power moonroof on the Pilot EX-L
trim and a panoramic roof on the Elite. The top-tier Black Edition features black leather upholstery, black trim, and red ambient LED lighting inside. Overall, though, the 2021 Pilot is a crossover made for comfort and practicality. It’s not the best-looking in its class, but it’s spacious, capable, and comfortable.
