What credit bureau do car loans use?

In one of my credit reports by Experian, some of my information isn't correct. I've been in communication with them about it, but it seems to be moving slowly. My information is accurate with the other two, though. So, which credit bureaus do lenders look at when you apply for a car loan?

I’m sorry to hear that the process of fixing your report is going so slowly. The three credit bureaus used for car loans are:
  • Equifax
  • Experian
  • TransUnion
Equifax and Experian tend to be used more frequently than TransUnion, but overall, it varies by lender. I would recommend talking to the lender and explaining the situation in your specific case.
You can also come prepared with other documentation to help. Being organized and proving you’ve done your research will reflect well on you.
  • Have a specific car in mind, and find out its VIN.
  • Bring
    proof of insurance
    , residency, income, and identity.
  • Know your budget, including how much you can afford monthly and what you can
    put down
    up front.
