If you want to become a more defensive driver, taking courses is always a smart move. But if you can’t afford it monetarily or you don’t have enough time, you can still apply a few of these tips:
Slow to the appropriate speed for your conditions or traffic.
Try to anticipate the movements of other drivers.
Follow the four-second rule, or follow at least four seconds behind other drivers.
Minimize distractions.
Don’t use your phone while driving.
