Is the Porsche extended warranty worth it?

My husband and I are planning to buy a Porsche Cayenne for our family, and we are wondering if we should buy the extended warranty on top of the limited warranty the car comes with. Is the extended warranty worth it?

Porsche
extended warranty costs upwards of $6,000 (for an 8 year plan), but it could save you even more in the long run if your vehicle ends up needing repairs.
Porsche has two optional extended warranties: the Powertrain Plan and the Platinum Plan. The Powertrain Plan is more affordable but only covers repairs to your engine, transmission, drive axle, seats, and gaskets. The Platinum Plan covers these components as well as a slew of others, like your suspension and fuel system.
We recommend getting the Porsche extended warranty if your family can’t afford the blow of a pricey repair if or when it comes up. But if money is less of a concern—and you’re willing to take a risk—you can pass.
