Is Smart Car all electric?
My wife and I are talking about buying an electric vehicle for our next car. She’s saying she wants a Smart car, but I don’t think that they’re electric. Is Smart Car all electric?

Great question! Smart cars have models that are gas powered and models that are all electric, although they’re no longer producing gas models.
Mercedes-Benz
has long teamed with different companies to create a large range of vehicles that fall under the brand of Smart cars, including gas, diesel, and electric-powered vehicles. The brand name Smart comes from the cooperation between Swiss company Swatch and Mercedes-Benz: “Swatch Mercedes ART”. It has been producing a variety of cars as far back as 1998.
With such a long run, it’s only natural that the company would have a wide range of vehicle options. The most recent and recognizable of those are the Smart Fortwo and the Smart Forfour. Both of these vehicles have gas and electric versions, as the vehicles performed well, but Smart moved toward
electric vehicle
initiatives. Smart stopped selling gas-powered versions in the U.S. in 2017. Production of all Smart internal combustion engines (ICE) models, which includes gas and diesel, ended in 2019.Although the Smart Fortwo and Fourfour electric versions were still available for purchase in America until 2019, Smart pulled its vehicles out of the American market after that point. However, you can still find used Smart cars for sale with used car companies.
