Is renters insurance required in DC?
My request to work out of my company’s DC office was recently approved, so I’ve spent the last couple of days apartment hunting. Every apartment I look at asks for proof of renters insurance, but is renters insurance required in DC?

By law, renters insurance is not required in DC. However, many landlords do and will ask to see
