Is an alternator covered under the Dodge warranty?
I have a Dodge vehicle that’s only about a year old. However, I was driving yesterday and I noticed the car sputtering when I was idling. After taking the car to an auto parts shop and getting it tested, they told me I have a bad alternator. Will the Dodge warranty cover an alternator?

The alternator is covered under the 3-year, 36,000-mile Dodge warranty. Most alternators last about seven years or 100,000 miles, so the likelihood that the part is defective is high. All you need to do is schedule an appointment with your local Dodge dealer. If they deem the part defective, Dodge will replace it at no cost to you.
A new alternator typically costs between $150 and $200 for the part, as well as about $50 to $100 in labor, so plan accordingly if your alternator isn’t covered.
On the off-chance that you have to replace the alternator on your own dime, you can offset the repair costs by lowering your monthly or semi-annual
