Is a fuel pump covered under the Hyundai warranty?

The engine on my Hyundai started sputtering the other day, so I had it towed to the dealership because I believed the fuel pump was going out. My car only has 55,000 miles and is three years old. Will the Hyundai warranty cover the fuel pump?

Sorry to hear your Hyundai is having engine trouble! Unless the damage to the fuel pump was the result of an accident, an act of God, or vandalism, the
Hyundai
basic warranty should cover a fuel pump. You’re within the five-year, 60,000-mile basic warranty offered by Hyundai, so you shouldn’t face any issues from the dealer.
However, the fuel pump would not be covered by the 10-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty. The fuel pump isn’t considered part of the powertrain (engine, transmission, or drivetrain), so your claim would likely be denied.
