Where can I find my Infiniti’s paint code?

All Infiniti models have their paint code listed on the manufacturer’s tag. However, the tag location will depend on the Infiniti model you drive. You will need to check along the fire wall, the driver’s side, the driver’s side door jamb, and the driver’s side door panel. Infiniti paint codes are three characters long, usually a mix of numbers and letters

What if there’s no paint code on the car’s label?

If you have an older Infiniti model, you might have to use the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to find the paint code. The VIN is a string of 17 letters and numbers—you’ll know it when you see it.
Here is where you
check the VIN on an Infiniti
:
  • Car title, registration, and insurance papers
  • Service tag on the driver’s side doorjamb
  • Dashboard tag on driver’s side of the dashboard where it meets the window
  • Under the hood
When you have the VIN, you can call your car dealership so they can look up the paint code for you.

Where can I get paint for my Infiniti?

Once you have your Infiniti’s paint code, it’s time to order some paint! You can order new paint directly from the Infiniti website, or look for online or in-store options offering paint touch-up packages. You’ve got plenty of options to choose from as long as you have your paint code!

Paint touch-up tips

Time to have some fun—you have your fresh paint and you’re ready to make that scratch on your car disappear before your eyes. Here are some helpful tips to make your touch-up go smoothly:
  • Wash the damaged area with water and soap
  • If you see any rust, use a wire brush or fine sandpaper to gently wear it away
  • Apply primer to any bare plastic or metal you’re planning to paint and let it dry overnight. Sand it to create an even painting surface once it has dried.
  • Paint over the area with the color that matches the rest of the car. Apply multiple coats, allowing at least 20 minutes in between each coat. Allow the last coat to dry overnight.
  • Apply a clear protective coat in the same method you used to apply the paint—several coats, and let it dry overnight.
  • Buff the area with a rubbing compound three days after it has dried to make it shiny!
Remember: you might be able to forgo buying a full-sized paint can and opt for a paint pen or smaller paint pack instead, depending on how serious the damage to the paint job is.

Vehicle manufacturers have codes for every vehicle color they make. You can find the paint code of your Infiniti on the manufacturer’s label or using the VIN to look it up online.
Yes you can! Paint touch-ups are actually fairly easy to do on your own—you’ll just need the paint code to order the matching color and have a seamless touch-up. If you need a full-body paint job, though, it’s best to go to a professional.
