Is a Ford Escape a regular SUV or is it a crossover? I’ve read that crossover vehicles are lighter and can’t tow as much weight, so I want to make sure that the Expedition will be able to haul my trailer.

The Ford Escape is a compact crossover SUV, meaning it has a lighter frame and is smaller in size than many other SUVs on the market. The Escape is only capable of towing 1,500 to 3,500 pounds, so unless your trailer is very light, you might want to look for a different vehicle.
The Ford Expedition, for example, is capable of towing up to 6,000 pounds. The trade-off is that it has a much higher starting MSRP at $52,405, compared to the Ford Escape’s starting MSRP of $38,100.
