How old do you have to be to rent a car in Arkansas?

I’m going to be working on my family’s farm in Arkansas for some time and I’ll definitely need a car to get around. I’ve heard in some states you have to be older than 18 to rent a vehicle, but I’m not sure if that’s true for every state.

I hope you have a great visit with your “farmily” (I just had to say it). The good news is that you only have to be 18 years old to rent a car in
Arkansas
. If you want to rent a 12-passenger van or a 15-passenger van, however, you’ll need to be at least 21 years old.
Note that many car rental companies set their own minimum age requirements, so check with the companies in the area you’re staying in if this is a concern. If you’re under 25, don’t be alarmed if you’re also charged a young renter fee. Many car rental companies add this fee to cover the
added risk
of renting out their vehicles to young drivers.
