How much air should my spare tire have?
My spare tire has been sitting under my trunk for the entire time that I’ve had my car, so I’m worried that it has deflated some. If I wanted to check and refill my spare tire’s air pressure, how much air should it have?

spare tire
needs depends on the type of tire. Smaller spare tires that don’t match the rest of your usual tires will typically need more air to compensate for the weight of your car. You can find out the correct air pressure for your spare in a couple of ways:
- Look on the tire for a number that is followed by PSI. This is the pound per square inch of air that the tire needs.
- Take the tire’s dimensions and search the internet for the correct tire pressure it will need.
