How many points before your license is suspended in South Carolina?

Can your license be suspended if you have too many driving points on record in South Carolina? I just moved here and I don’t know how my driving record affects me or if the points transfer.

Congrats on your move! If you get up to 12 points at one time then yes, your license can be suspended in
South Carolina
.
However, points on your license will expire with time. After one year, each point will be reduced by half. After two years, each point will be removed completely, provided that you don’t get any new violations on your record during that time.
Unfortunately, your points will follow you when you move to South Carolina, provided that your previous state of residence uses the points system. However, you may not have the same number of points on your record in South Carolina as you did in your previous home state. Points are sometimes assigned differently in different states, so you’ll need to check your record to see how your previous tickets affect you.
Whenever you move to a new state, you also need to update your insurance. Check out the
