How does Progressive handle medical payments coverage?
"Do they pay out a check or handle it directly? I leased out my vehicle and have a contract that states that I get all the claim money if my vehicle is involved in an accident.
My car was totaled and I got a check for $700 from the insurance company. The person who leased my vehicle called, saying they want the check. Was the check sent for medical bills or was it for car repairs?"

medical payment coverage
. Depending on Progressive’s terms, the person might have had to pay out of pocket for their medical coverage. Once Progressive received the bill, they could be reimbursing the person for the cost.If your vehicle was totaled, it’s unlikely that it’s only worth $700. If the person had
comprehensive insurance
or collision car insurance
, this would have given you the actual cash value of your vehicle. If another driver was at fault, their insurance would have sent a check for the actual cash value of your vehicle.
The best thing to do is to reach out to Progressive and find out what the money is for. They’ll be able to give you an exact answer. If it’s not for repairs, you should be sending the check to the driver who leased your car.
