“When you stop paying your
car insurance
premium in Nevada, you lose your coverage. The insurance company will notify the DMV that your coverage has lapsed. If you don’t provide proof of new insurance, the DMV will contact you for the paperwork. You must have valid insurance while your car is registered or the DMV will cancel your registration for you. They’ll also issue a fine for letting your insurance lapse without coverage.
If you’re caught driving your vehicle without car insurance, your vehicle can be towed and the DMV can suspend your license.”
