How do you sell a junk car in California?

Selling your junk car in
California
is a fairly straightforward process when you go through an agency. While junk cars don’t typically retain very high value, agencies will pay you in cash for the car and profit from individual pieces they take out of the body. Of course, you can do that on your own. But it may be more work than it’s worth.
When you sell a junk car to an agency, you’ll always need to provide the following information:
- Your name and address
- Your phone number and contact information
- Whether you have the title
- Your car’s mileage
- Condition of the motor and transmission
- Description of vehicle damages
Once you’ve provided that information, the agency will make an offer for your car. If you agree, you’ll need to
transfer the title
to the agency. From there, they’ll take the car off your hands.Since you’re selling the car, it’s important to keep your car insured until the buyer takes it. If you drop your policy and something happens to the car, the seller could bail and you’ll be stuck repairing the damages out of pocket.
