I’m restoring a classic Jaguar E-Type, and I just got started on the interior. I’ve looked up photos of what the interior looked like back in the day, and getting it perfect seems daunting. How can I restore my Jaguar E Type interior and make it look good?

E-Type interior definitely requires a different eye for detail than the mechanical parts or the exterior body. If you’re going for a complete, original factory-style restoration, you’ll want to note some of the following details.The Jaguar E-Type was originally produced on a budget, and Jaguar used vinyl as opposed to leather for the seating and trim. You can choose from several colors—red, black, tan, and more—but go with vinyl if you want to be true to its origin.
One of the most iconic interior pieces of the Jaguar E-Type is its
steering wheel
. You’ve got to nail this one if you’re going for the original look. You want a smooth, round wood wheel with a T-shape aluminum centerpiece featuring a gold-leaf Jaguar’s head on the horn button. Finally, try to get an original
dash and center panel
