Changing the oil is important to keep your
Honda Accord LX
running smoothly. But if the oil light is on, you may have some problems.
While you cannot reset the oil light on a Honda Accord, if you’re talking about the oil life on the instrument cluster, you can reset it.
The oil light on the dashboard is indicative of an issue with the oil in the engine. In most cases, it means you don’t have any oil. But since you just had an oil change, you may have another problem, such as a leak in the system or low oil pressure. In any case, take your car to a mechanic immediately.
If you’re talking about your oil life, resetting this gauge is easy. Just follow these instructions:
  • Turn the key to the on position.
  • Once your instrument cluster comes on, find the trip button on the lower right side.
  • Push it three or four times to select oil life.
  • Press and hold the trip button for about 10 seconds. The oil life should start to flash.
  • Once the oil life flashes, release the trip button.
  • Then, immediately press and hold the trip button for about 5 seconds or until the oil life resets to 100%.
While oil changes are an integral part of keeping your car in great condition, you shouldn’t overpay for one. The same goes for your auto insurance. Instead of paying too much, download the
