Rusted bolts can be pretty tricky to remove!
Luckily, there are a number of ways to remove rusted bolts:
Use a bolt loosening spray to lubricate the bolts, then tap them with a hammer to spread the formula
Get a good grip on the fastener’s head using a clamp and twist it forcefully to dislodge it from its location
Use a heat torch on a low to moderate setting. Heat will expand rusted bolts, allowing them to be removed. However, this approach should be used with caution—many lubricants used on bolts are combustible and can catch fire.
If you notice any other large patches of rust, they should be addressed by a professional—especially if the rust damage has led to holes in the paneling or frame of your car.
