, many media outlets expect this large SUV to be closely related to another one of Toyota’s latest feats, the 2022 Toyota Tundra
. Toyota still hasn’t released any official information about their newest SUV, and they seem to be keeping things pretty under wraps. It’s expected we’ll hear more about the car by the end of this year, and that it’ll make its debut around the middle of 2022. Historically, the Toyota Sequoia has been closely related to the Toyota Tundra, which means the cars share many of the same features.

reports that both of the new Toyotas will use an updated platform and new six-cylinder powertrains, with the possibility of a hybrid model in the works. The Sequoia will use an independent rear suspension setup, like many
three-row SUVs
. It’s also expected to have an upgraded engine from the current Sequoia model, which has a 381 horsepower, V8 engine. It’s possible the new engine could be a twin-turbocharged, 3.4-liter V6 engine, according to MotorTrend.
